Evening or night rains till 24th June in Chennai!!
Just like the previous 2 days, yesterday on 20th June also Chennai received widespread rains in the late evenings. This has brought the heat down to a huge extent and the residents are happy now.
For the next 2 days, there would be more rains with thunder storms and this was as per IMD forecast. Till early next week, Chennai will have more rainfall.
Yesterday around 9pm in the late evening, Chennai core localities like T. Nagar, Choolaimedu, Nungambakkam, Anna Naga plus suburban localities like Pallavaram, Pammal, Chromepet etc received light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning for 10 to 30 minutes.
The rain activity was short but intense due to fast movement of the clouds. This was pointed out by some weather experts. According to IMD it was clear that Chennai and its suburbs would receive light to moderate rains with lightning and thunderstorms in some places.
Information is that the maximum temp would be around 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temp would be around 26 degrees Celsius to 27 degrees Celsius. Since 1st of June 2024, Chennai and its surroundings have received about 18cms of rain.
According to the popular weather blogger from Chennai Mr. Pradeep john, even after the SW monsoon becomes active over Kerala on 21st and 22nd of June, Chennai would receive rains. He concluded that till 24th of June, there would be rains in the evenings or nights in Chennai.
