Vegetable prices at Chennai`s Koyambedu Wholesale Market have been marked by significant fluctuations this week. Tomatoes, which surged to Rs 55 per kg due to supply disruptions from Andhra Pradesh`s weather challenges, saw a sharp drop to Rs 40 today.
Drumsticks experienced a notable decrease from Rs 190 per kg earlier this month to Rs 100 today, after briefly touching Rs 120 recently. Lemon prices showed varied trends, starting at Rs 140, dipping to Rs 80, spiking to Rs 130, and now stabilizing at Rs 100 per kg.
Beans also saw fluctuations, dropping from Rs 170 to Rs 70 and then settling at Rs 100 per kg today. Chow chow prices returned to Rs 50 after a brief drop to Rs 30, while cauliflower remained steady at Rs 50 after a recent increase.
These price shifts reflect ongoing challenges in supply chains and market dynamics affected by weather conditions in the region.
