According to a statement from BSNL or Bharat Sanchar Nigam limited, Chennai telephones would soon be launching 4G services for its Chennai customers. Information is that BSNL has already started offering 4G services in as many as 19 villages belonging to Thiruvallur district. It is well known to us that BSNL was founded in the year 2000 and is an Indian public sector undertaking. This BSNL comes under the control of the Ministry of Communications, Government of India.
It is learnt that the existing BSNL 2G/3G customers having old SIM cards could go to nearby BSNL customer service centres or CSC, retailer, franchisee or DSA/direct selling agent to upgrade to 4G SIM cards free of cost. Pont is that as many as 2114 4G towers would be installed and work is in progress. Districts like Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet would be covered.
