Latest on the expansion of Trichy airport runway - Operation of wide bodied aircrafts!!
Trichy airport is now making news for this reason!!
The new terminal at Trichy airport would soon have all the basic facilities. Wide body aircrafts could be operated from here as steps are underway for the expansion of the runway at the airport. This was assured by Mr. Durai Vaiko, Trichy MLA.
He mentioned that there was a detailed discussion for the expansion of the runway at the airport. It must be taken into account that Mr. Durai Vaiko took part in a consultative meeting with Trichy collector Mr. M. Pradeep Kumar, airport director Mr. Gopalakrishnan and some officers etc.
Point is that the new terminal has been constructed, inaugurated and it has started functioning also but it lacks several important amenities for the public and passengers etc. These would be rectified soon.
Long pending demand:
Mr. Durai Vaiko spoke about how the expansion of the runway at Trichy airport was a long pending demand. He added that discussions have been taking place regarding land acquisition etc and detailed study would be made on the issue. Rectification would be carried out.
For wide bodied aircraft movement, expansion of the runway is essential. This would enable more passenger movement and it would be resolved. The superb piece of information is that bus services have been introduced from Monday onwards to the new terminal. It is learnt that the airport officials have expressed a positive response regarding allowing autos near the airport premises.
