The sensational news is that the TN govt has decided to set up robotic labs in each district for the students studying in the classes 9 to 12. At a cost of Rs 15.38 cr, the robotic labs would be established in the government schools in 38 districts belonging to TN soon.
What is the objective behind this decision?
To bring out the innovative ideas of the school students plus to improve their practical knowledge, these upcoming robotic labs would be playing their part. This was according to a senior officer from the school education dept. He explained that these robotic labs would be dedicated to providing the students with a hands-on practical understanding of machine operations. It must be taken into note that the training would expose the students of these classes to the basics of robotics and Internet of Things or IoT.
The school students would acquire skills in mechanics, electronics, programming, problem solving etc needed for the present technology era. These robotic labs would help the students to know how robots are operated now in various industries like manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture etc. This would expose them to different career paths. Not only the creativity of the students would be brought to light by the robotic labs, but critical thinking abilities would also get sharpened. The school students would be trained together as a team to produce a single product.
As per the requirements of the school students, the schools would be chosen in each district for setting up of robotic labs. There would be experts as well as trained teachers in these labs to help the students. It was later revealed by an officer that computers and other equipment would be procured. He concluded that from the next academic year onwards the robotic labs would start functioning in the government schools across TN.
