Courses like yoga, naturopathy are having good demand now in TN. The news that has come out is that the 160 seats present in the TN govt colleges have been filled up now in the counselling.
At the Chengalpet, Government College of Yoga and Naturopathy and at Chennai Arumbakkam based Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine there are 160 seats for the Yoga and Naturopathy courses. In addition, there are about 1500 seats in the 16 private colleges for these above-mentioned courses. It is known that Yoga & Naturopathy degree is a five and half year course and admission is done based on the marks secured by the students in their plus two examinations.
For the academic year 2024-25, the application distribution took place on the website belonging to the department of health. The website is www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in. It must be noted that the desiring and eligible students download the application form from the website and then submit it along with their relevant documents.
For the government seats, as many as 2320 students have applied and out of that 2243 applications were accepted. In the same way, out of the total of 1187 applications received for administration reserved seats as many as 1173 applications were accepted.
The rank list of eligible students have been published and the counselling for Yoga and Naturopathy courses at the above-mentioned government colleges in Chengalpet and Arumbakkam in Chennai began yesterday. A total of 328 seats were filled up yesterday. Out of these, 160 seats present at 2 medical colleges and 14 seats reserved for special category as many as 12 seats were filled up.
Today, counselling for general category would be held and on 26th September and 27th September counselling for the administration reserved category would be held.
