Swiggy was founded in 2014 and it has got its headquarters at Bangalore. There exists a good competition between Swiggy and Zomato.
The latest sensational news is that Swiggy has launched Bolt which is a 10 minute meal and beverage delivery service. Point is that this service is already present in major cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune etc. In the future, Swiggy is planning to expand this feature in some more cities.
What is Bolt?
Information gathered is that Bolt offers fast delivery from selected restaurants within 2km radius of the customers. In the coming weeks, Bolt service would continue to expand into additional areas. This was mentioned by a statement from Swiggy. Various dishes like burgers, hot & cold beverages plus breakfast items, biriyani etc (foods that need minimum preparation time) are offered by Bolt.
Not only these foods, Bolt from Swiggy would also focus on ready to pack foods like ice creams, sweets and snacks etc. It must be noted that the delivery partners were not informed regarding the difference between Bolt and normal order.
According to Mr. Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy`s food market place it was clear that Bolt was the next evolution to provide unmatched convenience. He spoke about how 10 years back Swiggy grabbed the attention when it reduced the average waiting time in food delivery by about 30 minutes. He added that there would be further reduction in the waiting time now for frequently ordered foods like burgers, ice cream, biriyani etc by associating with trusted restaurants. It must be recalled that last month Swiggy filed its updated draft papers with SEBI to raise funds through its IPO or initial public offering.
