Girl students need to be taught self defence methods to protect themselves. Now, the TN govt is taking huge steps for this.
There are many girl students who are residing in the government service homes and in children`s asylum or orphanages etc in the state of TN. The news that has come out now is that the TN govt has issued an order allocating Rs 1.12 crores to provide self defence methods to the girl students living in the above said homes and asylums etc.
Important piece of information is that under the social welfare dept belonging to the TN government self defence training and sports training etc would be provided to the girl students living in the govt service homes and asylums etc. For about 1400 girl students silambam and karate would be taught. For this instructors would be selected. To select the instructors, a committee consisting of district social welfare officers, district child protection officers plus district sports officers have been constituted.
Point is that the TN government has ordered the formation of a committee headed by the district social welfare officer, district child protection officer, district sports officer and centre superintendent to monitor the training classes.
