Research activities in colleges to be on par with latest trends - Setting up of research parks in Chennai, Madurai &Coimbatore etc!!
In the future, don’t be surprised if you come across industry aligned research parks in cities like Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai etc!!
The Tamil Nadu government wants to promote research activities in the colleges to be on par with the latest trends. For that, industry aligned research parks would be established in the above said cities.
Collaboration with TIDCO:
It is now said that the proposed research parks would be established in collaboration with TIDCO or Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation limited.
Purpose of the research parks:
The research parks would aim to support the students and MSME sector and would help the growth of industries like aerospace, defence, automotive and EV etc. The students would not only be helped to become entrepreneurs but also could build strong academic linkages. This was as per a senior officer belonging to Higher Education department
The official then spoke about how a DPR or detailed project report would be done to identify locations in these cities. There would be knowledge sharing and consistent learning between the students who are trying to become entrepreneurs and industrial experts etc. According to the latest industrial requirements, the employment opportunities would increase and this would be possible by the interaction between students and the industrial experts etc.
When will the research park be completed?
It must be noted that the proposed research parks would get completed in about the next one and half years. Pont is that TIDCO has got many years of experience in developing parks in the past. The funds for construction of these parks would be allotted by the TN govt once after DPR gets completed. It must be taken into note that the number of industries would be identified for the project collaboration and this was also stated by the senior officer.
