Mettur Thermal Power Plant to reduce shutdowns

As the 600 MW Mettur Thermal Power Project is set ready to start its functioning by next weekend, power shutdown may be considerably reduced and people can be relieved from frequent shutdowns.
According to the sources from Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation, this plant has been running continuously since 14th September in order to achieve COD (Commercial Operation Declaration). This is done because, continuous functioning for 28 days is required for obtaining the declaration. These 28 days of functioning also includes three complete days of full load generation.
