A.M. Jain College organized ‘Shield Her Future: Avalukaga Anbudan’, an awareness program focused on cervical cancer vaccination, to educate students on the importance of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer.
Key speakers, including Rotarian President Raghunath, Project Chairman Nallammai Ramanathan, and Past District Governor Abirami Ramanathan, emphasized the critical role of early vaccination in reducing the risk of HPV infections, which cause nearly 99% of cervical cancer cases.
A panel discussion led by Dr. Sreedhar Mayavan, Dr. Kirthi, and Dr. Indhra Nedumaran addressed students` concerns about vaccine safety, effectiveness, and eligibility. Experts highlighted that administering the vaccine between ages 9 and 25 can reduce the risk of cervical cancer by 90%.
The initiative aims to raise awareness and improve vaccine accessibility, ensuring a healthier future for young women.
