Watching movies in the metro stations - In Shenoy Nagar and in Central metro stations in Chennai, LuLu Mall will be opened!!
Bringing entertainment and leisure to the public plus more revenue to CMRL or Chennai Metro Rail Limited!!
In the future, the residents of Chennai would be able to watch movies at the miniplex theatre at the metro stations in Central, Shenoy Nagar etc!! Sounds incredible right!!
Soon, CMRL would get more revenue plus it would also be bringing entertainment and leisure to the public in Chennai by opening LuLu Mall at the metro stations in Central and at Shenoy Nagar in the month of May.
The work regarding opening LuLu Mall in these metro stations is going on. Point to be noted is that the CMRL has handed over the contract to Grace Service.
At present, the work at Wimco Nagar metro station has been going on at brisk pace and it would be opened in another 3 to 4 months. This was mentioned by some CMRL officials.
There would be superb facilities like food courts, famous textile outlets plus other enterprises etc at the metro stations. This was according to Mr. G. Charles Vasanthakumar of Grace Service.
He hinted that the metro station at Shenoy Nagar would have a miniplex and it would accommodate 600 viewers. Superb piece of information is that recent movies that are shown in other theatres in Chennai would also be shown in this miniplex. It is now expected that there would be a superb turnout due to decent seating and comfortable parking facilities.
In the basement area of more than 100,000 square metres, the hypermarket would operate at Shenoy Nagar. It must be noted that the one at Central metro station would come up on an area of 40,000 sq ft and the one at Wimco Nagar in an area of 60,000 sqft. The ridership would increase further once LuLu hypermarket materialises. This was as per an officer from CMRL.
Not only CMRL would be getting revenue through the transit services in phase 1 and extension but also through Transit Oriented Development or TOD. The CMRL has also established a company named Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited or CMAML. It is known that CMAML has been involved in the property development in many places like Broadway, Tiruvottiyur etc in Chennai.
