Tiruchendur Skanda Sashti Festival 2013

In Lord Murgan`s temples, the six-day Kanda Sashti (Kanda Shasti, sasti) festival begins on November 3, 2013 (Sunday). The main ritual of Soorasamharam is on the sixth day, November 8, 2013 (Friday). Śrī Subrahmanya Valli Teyvanai Tiru Kalyanam is on November 9, 2013 (Saturday).
Shasti is the sixth day from new moon day.
Devotees will throng all Lord Murugan`s temples especially at the seashore temple at Tiruchendur on these six days.
The occasion of "Soorasamharam", the main event of the week-long "Kandha Sashti" festival.
Temple authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the dharshan of Lord muruga during the "Soorasamharam" event to be held on the sea shore when the demon Sooran would be killed by Swami Jayanthinathar (Muruga).
