Chennai will receive less rain this week

According to the meteorological department Chennai will receive less rain this week.The northeast monsoon may linger unresponsive over the State for the next two or three days. A system that is forming in the Bay of Bengal will influence the next spell of rains over the region.
 
Officials of the meteorological department said the State received scattered rainfall on Thursday but several districts including Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram did not get much rainfall. The monsoon so far has not been satisfactory with many districts registering deficit rainfall.
 
However, it may take a few days for the system to intensify from the Bay of Bengal.
 
Chennai is expected to have nearly 12 rainy days in November. The meteorological department forecasts a partly cloudy sky over the city on Friday, and the day temperature is expected be around 32 degree Celsius, two degrees above normal until Saturday.
