120 Officials to be posted at city bus stops to prevent autos’ entry
The transport
department has appointed 120 officials following the series of complaints of
autos stopping at the important bus stops and taking passengers.
There is a heavy
competition between the autos and the shared autos, especially during the peak
hours to get the waiting lot of passengers at all important bus stops. There is
a tendency for these auto and shared auto drivers to keep their vehicles parked
in the bus stop. Buses cannot stop in the right area causing traffic
congestions.
The transport
officials had discussed this issue with the traffic police department. It is
reported that there was not sufficient co-operation from the traffic police
department to prevent the autos from parking in the bus stops. Following this,
the transport department has planned to post checking officials at the
important bus stops during the peak hours.
