For providing
uninterrupted education to the children of backward and extremely backward
communities, and for their social welfare and growth, many plans have been
taken up by this government.
On this front, a hostel has been built at the cost of Rs. 48.41
Lakhs for the case children located at the village of Thoyyampatti in Dindigul
district, another hostel at the cost of Rs. Rs. 57.43 lakhs in the village of
Dandikkudi, a girls’ hostel at the cost of Rs. 66.78 in Dindigul, and a hostel
at Periyakottai at the cost of Rs. 66.78 Lakhs at Sidhaiyankottai, and a hostel
at Oddanchathiram at the cost of Rs. 81 lakhs have been built and will be
functioning.
Hostels have also been built in Chingleput (Rs. 54 Lakhs for
college girls), Madhuranthakam (Rs. 48.41 Lakhs), Uranipuram, Tanjore district
(Rs. 54. 74 Lakhs), at Thiruppunthuruthi (Rs. 52.12 Lakhs), Anna village,
Cuddalore district (Rs. 54 Lakhs), Kallakkurichi (Rs. 48.41 Lakhs),
Ayakkaranpuram village (Nagappattinam District) (Rs. 90 Lakhs), Karai,
Perambalur district (Rs. 54 lakhs) Koodalaur, Nilgiri district (Rs. 60.25
Lakhs), Paramakkudi, Ramanathapuram district (Rs. 56.56 Lakhs), nannilam,
Thiruvaroor distrci (Rs. 66.78 Lakhs).
The hostels feature granite dining tables, fire-fighting
equipment, electric chimneys, solar water heaters, furnished kitchen, etc. Several
important officials participated in the inauguration.
