In Thuthukudi district in favor of the e-Farming plan, the Agriculture department has requested to fill up all the basic details of the farmers in the Farmhouse, before March 2014. The TamilNadu Agriculture Department to attain the second round of Green Revolution, planned for double rate of production and triple rate of income. In India, TamilNadu took first place in implementing the e-Farming plan and for this purpose, the officers collected about 69, 22, 758 farm families across TamilNadu. The basic details includes: Address, mobile numbers and bank account details of Farm family, sample soil of the land, suitable types of crops, complex fertilizers. Two officers from each district will be getting training for online filling and these officers in turn will aid the field-work officers. Since having the farm bank details, the government will straightaway drop its grants in the farmers accounts. The bills for the purchase of fertilizers, raw materials, etc is given to the farmers. Also, via Tamil voice message, various suggestions are given to the farmers by field-officers.

joint director, Mr.Thatchanamurthy stated that, for online e-farming, about
1lakh and 92 thousand farm families are identified in their district and nearly
43 thousand farm family details are already registered online and yet will get
registered by March 2014.
