Beware of strong winds beach goers

Today there will be strong winds in Chennai due to a well-marked low pressure area over southwest Bay of Bengal. Officials of the meteorological department said that the system over the Bay of Bengal is likely to bring rains to coastal parts of the State. Some areas of Chennai and its suburbs too are likely to get light rains on Friday.
“We have recorded gusty winds with speeds reaching up to 35 km per hour in Chennai. Places along the coastline, including Pondicherry, may experience squally weather on Friday with wind speed touching 50-60 kmph,” said an official of the department.
The meteorological department has
advised fishermen not to venture into sea on Friday.
