7th Pay Commission for Central Government Employees

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has accepted to form the 7th Pay Commission during September, 2013. The central government has not acted so far on this proposal. During the winter session of the parliament, permission has been obtained for an expenditure of Rs. 3.5 Crores towards 7th pay commission recommendations.
The government is keen on forming the 7th pay commission before the general elections. The ministries are planning accordingly. A former Supreme Court Justice is expected to head the 7th pay commission as per the usual practice. The commission will submit the report within 2 years. These recommendations are to be implemented on 1st January, 2016
