Chennai will be experiencing an arid weather for the next 3 to 4 days, due to the lack of the northeast monsoon across the state. A reasonably warm weather is expected on Christmas day owing to the enduring moisture gist in the air. For the past two days, various indications like foggy skies and sprinkles indicate the upcoming rain in the city. The minimum temperature in the city is now floating to 24.7 degree Celsius.
During the weather observation, the highly coldest day is received on 20 December with the minimum temperature of 19.1 degree Celsius and the night temperature received is hovered to 20 degree Celsius.
The recent news from the meteorological department says that, low pressure monsoon was anticipated to form on top of Bay of Bengal after Christmas. The news also added that, various southern regions like Tirunelveli and Kaniyakumari may get rain.
Mr. Y.E.A. Raj, the deputy director general of the meteorology department, Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai states that, Chennai will receive rain due to northeast monsoon during January. The department conjectures an annual rainfall of 109 cm. This survey highlights a maximum temperature of about 31 degree Celsius till Thursday.
