Tamil Nadu Electricity board has put an agreement with the private organization in other state for the getting the 1,208 MW of electricity. But meanwhile, the ‘Southern Grid’ work will be getting work out completely during the month of May. Hence there creates a doubt in getting the private electricity during February. This Southern grid is placed in Solapur, Maharastra and Raichiyur, Karnataka.
The government put an agreement with the other state private organizations to get the electricity at the rate of 4.91 rupees per unit for about 15 years. As per the plan, four organizations divided their part of electricity and the details includes: Indu Barat Company, Orrisa – 500MW; T.P.Power, Satishkar – 208MW; Jinthal Power -400MW; Palko – 100MW, hence in total 1,208 MW electricity will be received by the TamilNadu government.
On regarding this, the Energy department officers states that: Chennai is getting the other state electricity via Nellore and Chittoor of Andra Pradesh and TamilNadu is getting through the Ossur, Bangalore and Salem of Karanataka. Even though the Southern grid will not be in process, via these states, TamilNadu will get electricity during the month of February.
