Nammalvar, Organic Farming Scientist- Passed Away
The Organic Farming Scientists and Campaigner, G.Nammalvar who is aged 75 was demised on Monday night, at Pichinikadu village near Pattukotai.
He
was born at Elankadu Village in Thiruvaiyaru district in 1938. He has been
graduated in the Agriculture Department in Annamalai University. Later in 1963, he
tied up as an agricultural officer in Agricultural Regional Research at
Kovilpatti. Then he worked as an
agronomist in an organization named, Island Peace, which is founded by Nobel
Laureate R.P. Dominic Pyre. In his entire life path, he battled and victor for
natural farming. He was privileged with the doctorate from Gandhigram Rural
University.
As
a campaigner against the genetically altered crops, he was the top leading
light for the pressure group of the approved methane project conducted in
the Cauvery delta districts.
