Bus services from Tamil Nadu to Andhra Pradesh stopped due to Telangana Bandh

Bus services from Tamil Nadu to Andhra Pradesh were suspended due to bandh called by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association (APNGOs) against bifurcation of the State, led to cancellation of bus services from Vellore and Chennai on Friday. Over 60 buses services operating from Vellore to Andhra Pradesh between 7 am and 1.30 pm Friday were cancelled from due to a strike in AP regarding the Telangana issue.
 
Government buses belonging to Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), as well as private buses plying to various destinations in AP like Tirupati, Kalahasthi and Chittoor remained cancelled
 
Meanwhile, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) that operates about 150 services, cancelled all the trips. The TNSTC handles about 10,000 Andhra-bound passengers every day.Similarly, the Andhra Pradesh Transport Corporation, also operating buses to destinations in AP, suspended its services. However, the buses which left AP Thursday night and in the early hours of Friday reached Chennai and Vellore without any problems.
 
Both the transport corporations ply more number of buses to Tirupati-Tirumala, the hill abode of Lord Venkateswara, due to which devotees were affected. Those who had planned their trip had to hop on to trains, which were operated as usual.
