1,325 special buses to be operated from CMBT today

On Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu State Government had announced special bus services would be available in four days beginning January 10. Around 600 buses will be specially operated between Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) at Koyambadu and district headquarters and important towns.
 
As many as 1,325 buses will be operated from CMBT on January 11, while 1,175 and 339 buses will be operated from there on January 12 and 13 respectively.
 
Special services will also be introduced on January 14 based on the requirement.
 
In the rest of the state, the transport department also planned to introduce 345 buses on January 10, 750 on January 11, while 760 and 1,220 buses on January 12 and 13 respectively. The same services will be available on return from January 16 to 19.
 
Transport Minister V Senthil Balaji on Friday inaugurated the reservation of seats through the 25 special counters set up at Koyambedu bus terminus for the special buses to be operated for Pongal festival. Official sources said on the first day, over 27,000 passengers have reserved their seats in the special buses to be operated by the State transport corporations for the Pongal festival.
