The number of LPG gas cylinders was raised from 9 per year to 12 last week.
Subsequently, the
central government has announced today (3rd February) the 30% price
reduction in gas fuel price for autos and cars by Rs. 15/- per cylinder.
The gas price for the
users of pipe-line gas services has been reduced by Rs. 5/- per cubic metre.
This price reduction will vary in different cities according to the tax
structure.
The gas price
reduction for the autos will come into effect from 3rd Februauary.
The price reduction
is taken as a step to reduce pollution generated by vehicles and also to
increase awareness of the public
This will be an
additional financial burden for the central government after the increase in
the number of LPG cylinders per year.
