SRM University will hold its annual convocation February 9. Narendra Modi will be in the city to deliver the convocation address at the SRM University on February 9, where he will be unveiling a statue of founder Pachaimuthu’s mother Valliamai in front of the college that bears her name from the TP Ganesan Auditorium.
Over 10,290 students (UG+PG) from 128 disciplines and 56 PhD students will receive their degrees in due course with a honorary degree being conferred upon Avinash Chander, Director General DRDO for his long term contribution to science and research.
On the future plans of SRM Educational Group, Pachaimuthu said that they would be opening a State university in Sikkim with focus on humanities for which they have attained developed property, where courses will begin from the coming year.
