About 5, 083 government buses are getting functioning in Chennai and Coimbatore. Advertisements are getting welcomed in government buses.
In TamilNadu, nearly 20,500 buses are running across the roads under the control of eight Transportation associations. Due to elevated diesel rates and spare parts, the bus expenses are getting elevated than expected.
To meet the bus expenses, higher administration of the Transport Association has decided to couple the courier services and advertisements in the government buses.
Administration has been anticipating that along with the advertisement income, they can at least manage the bus expenses to a level. Hence compulsorily all the government buses were running with the advertisements.
Many organizations were showing their mounting interest in delivering their advertisements in the buses.
Till now, 2,983 advertisement tenders have been received by the Coimbatore Transport Association. And 19 March is the last date to receive the tenders. In the same way, in Chennai tenders were getting received for around 2,100 buses and 24 March is the deadline to receive the tenders.
Passengers Request
At the same time, administration has accepted the passengers request as not to paste the advertisements on the side windows, stated by the reporter.
