Mercury Goes ‘Sky-High’ – Chennai Sense Higher Temperature

Since the arrival of the summer, for the first time in this month on Tuesday Chennai undergo higher temperature. This is because the mercury level goes ascends high than normal.

The weather report observes higher temperature of 34.6 degree Celsius and 35.9 degree Celsius in Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam respectively.Even though, the upcoming days will be warmer due to clear skies, stated by the meteorological department officials.

With high ranges of mercury level with 37 & 38 degree Celsius, the inner parts of the state like Madurai, Salem and Dharmapuri experienced blistering weather.

Due to the trench over the Bay of Bengal, southern parts of the state like Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli and Tuticorin receives some breathing space, said Y.E.A. Raj, deputy director general of Meteorology.

In general for the upcoming weeks, people will feel dry temperature due to lack of moisture in the atmosphere.

Since the western wind reverses, Chennai would have 5 sizzling days in March. Last year in the same period on March, city received peak temperature of 35.1 degree Celsius.

Fortunately, there was a chance of fog formation during March, as there is high humidity ahead. These will outcome the breezy early morning instances.
