Indian Oil Corporation on Monday launched the sale of its compact cylinders at Kamadhenu Departmental Store in Teynampet. The product is ideal for those coming to the city for a short stay, in transferrable jobs, bachelors or students staying in groups and for small parties.
And, the public sector oil marketing company is not going to stop at this. It plans to put the mini, easy-to-carry, but expensive liquefied petroleum gas cylinders on the shelves of five more Kamadhenu stores of Triplicane Urban Co-operative Society Ltd (TUCS).
No registration is required, no waiting is involved, the cylinders can be picked off the shelves like other daily use items, tucked away in a corner, the benefits are many.
Besides the five stores that will start marketing the refills in a couple of days, more petrol bunks would also start selling the cylinders.
While purchasing for the first time, users need to take Rs. 1000 towards cylinder and Rs. 250 for regulator along with taxes.
