K Radhakrishnan, the Chairman of ISRO has
announced that the flight testing of the indigenous cryogenic stage of the GSLV
D3 is to be conducted in April. When he was talking to reporters in Chennai in
a function he said that we had been using Russian Cryogenic stages even though
we had many GSLV flights and further said that the vehicle would carry GAST –
4. The Engines had been tested for cryogenic stages for 7500 Seconds, he said.
The first Chandrayan, an unmanned lunar mission was launched in October, 2008.
The next is scheduled to be launched in 2013.
