TAMILNADU LEADS IN HOUSING FOR THE POOR SAYS STALIN

Addressing a gathering in a function at Nookkampalayam near Perumbakkam Village for foundation laying ceremony for about 26000 tenants and a bus stand at Semmanchery, the Deputy Chief Minster said that Tamilnadu was on its target of providing housing to the poor in the state. In Nukkampalayam 23684 houses would be constructed under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban renewal Mission. The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 1111 Crores. The centre would contribute 50% of the project with 40% from the state government and 10% from the beneficiaries. The bus stand at Semancherry would be built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.26 Crores.
