Collaborative Research between IIT (Chennai) & Germany for power generation

IIT Chennai has undertaken a collaborative research sustained electricity generation with some German universities.
The research was started recently in the Indo-German Centre for sustainability in the IIT complex. A conference was held recently with participation from senior scholars.
Mr. Bhaskar Ramamurthy, Director, IIT, Chennai informed:
The power generation from thermal (by burning coal), water, wind or solar energy has not been sustained. There have been many failures leading to severe shortage to meet the demand. In order to find some effective solution, a collaborative research will be undertaken by research students from IIT Chennai and German researchers for 2 years.
The research is funded by Germany and the Indian technology department.
