UGC Hordes Colossal Open Online Courses!
The University Grants Commission (UGC), has single-mindedly gritty in instigating Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), says Mr.Devaraj, vice chairman of UGC.
MOOCs will be lending its helping hand, for the students who engage in distance education.
For this new project, we have enormous counts of e-contents and e-patshala materials in hand.
Recently, while liberating the convocation speech at Sathyabama University at Semmanchery, Mr.Devaraj urges the importance of accountability among the educational institutions.
He also added that, for the past 60 years our country has gained access and impartiality in the educational structure and now it’s time to phase in distinction to the higher education approach.
Even though under graduation helps the students to fetch a suitable jobs, pursuing higher education will even alter the students status as they can become the job- sources instead of job- hunter, exhorted Jeppiaar, founder-chancellor of Sathyabama University.
During the occasion, the university bestowed amateur doctorate degrees on K. Sivan, project director (GSLV), film script-writer Arur Doss, and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO and Nagaswaram exponent Mambalam M.K.S. Siva.
About 1,539 undergraduate and 933 postgraduate scholars acknowledged their degrees; most of the counts of them are gold medalists. Additionally, 85 research students received their doctorate grade.
For the academic year 2013-14, the placement record stands for about 72.83 %.
