A former District Judge has been appointed for conducting elections to the South India Cine and TV Drivers’ Association for 2014-16 by the Madras High Court.Justice S. Tamilvanan passed the order on an application by the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI.)
The association was part of the federation.
Originally, the association had filed a suit to declare some letters sent by the federation as null and void. Consequently, the federation should be restrained from interfering with the peaceful administration of the association.
Counsel for FEFSI submitted that the association was affiliated to the federation which was the governing body for all the 23 craft associations in the cine and television industry.
The suit had been filed to prevent conducting of the federation’s election.
