Three day
expo on Wind Power was inaugurated in International Trade
Center at Nandamabakkam
to day. The expo is to show case renewable energy products that harness wind
power and connecting the buyers and sellers. In the present scenario power
generation is much below the required level, renewable energy is a critical source
much needed for Wind mill Industry. Tamilnadu Electricity board Chairman C P
Singh was speaking during the inauguration of the expo. He said that there was
increased awareness about the benefits o wind energy and its savings. He
suggested that non Agricultural lands could be used for Wind mill projects.
According to Ministry of Non – Conventional Energy 10% of the 2, 40,000 MW installed capacity
requirement by 2012 is going to be from Renewable energy and 50% of the renewable energy is going to be from
Windmills.
