Recent Bomb Threat Targets Central Station and Private Hospital

After effects of the duo bomb explosions at Chennai Central Station recently on May 1, the city is beholding a fling of bomb threat calls, creating a great edginess.

During the latest call on Thursday, the Chennai Central Station and a private hospital were the objectives.

We received a call approximately around 10 AM through our helpline, about a bomb threat in Central station, a senior official of the Government Railway Police department says.  Then we signaled all our Chennai police teams and bomb clearance squads of the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Two sniffer dogs and 12 police personals were pushed into duty to demeanor verifications at the station.

After a series of searches involved covering the entire station, safekeeping officials declared that the call was a swindle.

After call tracing it has been founded out that the call was received from Bangalore, who is a trifling criminal and using various SIM cards to shun detection, he mentioned.

Similar call has been received by the police control room, regarding the bomb threat at the private hospital in T.Nagar.

Since it has been a famous hospital with high number of patients, a squad team has been arranged to scrutinize the hospital and it found nothing of connotation.

Stern action will be taken on criminals who are making such panic calls, says a senior police official.
