About eight students from Sri Venketeshwara College of Engineering, Chennai will pop into National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to put on their project on crafting a ‘flyby’ tool that will avail ‘Assignment to Mars along with the Humans’, by 2018.

After the demo of this project on 15 March, it got selected and gets a go-ahead signal to depict it to the NASA’s mass gathering on 9 August.

On the occasion of the Virudunagar Rotary Club function on Sunday, S Vishnu Ram Barath, a student of Venketeshwara College of Engineering said that, he all along with his friends including V Vishal, Vijul L Shah, Anand Sundarajan, Mohit R Tagore, S Vishwanath, V Sathya Subramanian and S B Vishnu Kothar, had analyzed the venture for nearly two months and then roll up with an outline for the assignment.

Vishnu ram, continued his elaborative speech about the project, stating that this machine will go all-around the shell surface of the Planet Mars using its gravity force. After completing one full circle around the Mars, the machine will reach the Earth with the assistance of the gravitational force. This machine operates with a target of reaching the earth within 510 days of travel.

Main objective of our project is to reduce the travel days around the Mars to reach Earth within 510 days, by using the hyperbolic path instead of the elliptical path, he added.
