METRO RAIL PROJECT TO BE EXTENDED TO TIRUVOTTIYUR.
The Finance Minister,
K Anbazagan announced during his budget speech thatRs 600 crores have
been provisioned in the budget as the states share towards Metro-rail project
which will include extension of the same to Tiruvottiyur, for which feasibility
study would be undertaken. Consequent to comprehensive study undertaken the
Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has recommended a massive
transportation infrastructure in an investment of Rs 88200 Crores. As per the
plan many of roads including Annasalai will undergo make over. There is going
to be grade separator in Annasalai at an estimated cost of Rs 500 Crores.
