Breast cancer on the rise in Chennai, alerts Adyar Cancer institute

A study report has stated that ladies in Chennai are affected more by breast cancer. An official from Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai said that lung cancer is on the rise among men in Chennai and that for women, it is breast cancer. The next in the list is cervical cancer and stomach cancer, he added. Late marriage, long gap between marriage and birth of first child, etc are some of the reasons contributing to increasing number of breast cancer.

Furthermore, cervical cancer is increasing in number among women in villages. Though the total count of cervical cancer is getting decreased in the city on the whole, the case of villages is contrary because of the increasing number of cervical cancer patients.
