Auto rickshaw unions dropped their strike which they have planned on Thursday, after the conversation with the senior police officers.
According to the discussion held, it has been determined to select drives with strictly practicing the government rules and to appoint them as ‘Wardens’ to keep an eye on the functions of the auto rickshaws in their respective area.
These auto wardens’s will be facilitated with exclusive training and can be acknowledged with the ‘badges’ that will be hand out to them, said a senior traffic policeman.
Additionally, the police department has allotted four deputy commissioners of traffic to address the auto drives grievances.
A senior police officer said that, soon a meeting will be conducted with the union and the transport department, regarding the arrangement of the tripartite commission to mend auto fares and the GPS meter installation process.
The unions also pointed out that, they have only deferred their strike and not cancelled it entirely.
