Counseling for engineering courses begins on Monday

Anna University officials announced that the general academic counseling will begin on Monday. Counselling was earlier set to begin on June 27 but was delayed as the Supreme Court granted a week`s time to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to clear pending applications.
 
Counseling for over 1.68 lakhs applicants in engineering courses in the State is a much awaited event. The University had already held counseling for special categories such as the ex-servicemen, candidates with disabilities and sports persons.
 
On each day of general counseling, around 5,000 students are expected to come to the University. As per the earlier schedule the entire process was to have been completed by July 27. Classes were expected to begin on August 1.
