The Tamil Nadu assembly on Friday saw a heated debate on the allocation of kerosene by the Centre. DMK MLA E V Velu asked the government to supply more kerosene through the public distribution system, but state food minister R Kamaraj, citing the reduced allocation from the Centre, expressed his government`s inability to do so. In 2011, the allocation was 58lakh kilo litres but it has been reduced to 29.6 lakh kilo litres now. Though chief minister J Jayalalithaa wrote several letters to the UPA government in which the DMK was a constituent, the original allotment has not been restored, said Kamaraj. Velu suggested that the AIADMK government to make a representation to the NDA government and get more allocation
