Trainee doctors (interns) on endless strike demanding additional incentives!

The trainee doctors, known as interns, have gone on endless strike demanding additional incentives.

Currently, the junior trainee doctors are being paid Rs. 8,200/- per month.

The trainee doctors, om strike throughout Tamil Nadu, have demanded that this must be increased to Rs. 20,000/- per month and the monthly payment of Rs. 17,400 being paid to the senior trainees to be raised to Rs. 40,000/-.

The students in government owned medical colleges in Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore have also joined this strike.

Reports inform that the treatment for the patients has been severely affected.

Mr. Kavin Kumar, the president of the trainee doctors’ association, informed that they have indulged in strike as their just demands have not met with any action.

They had a 1-day token strike on 17th July in different areas of Tamil Nadu. There was nos response for this from the government. Hence, it was announced that they will go on indefinite strike from 28th July. As such, the strike has started today.
