Santosh Babu, the Managing Director, Electronics Corporation of Tamilnadu [ELCOT] said while addressing
gathering in the first day of The Hindu Education plus Career Fair 2010. He
compared IT to a spoonful of sugar, which can be added to anything that we
consume. The questions and the concern of the parents reflected that IT is most
interested as a subject. Earlier the fair was inaugurated by Poongothai Aladi
Aruna , the IT Minister.
The IT Edge panel discussion featured presentations by R. Ramkumar of
Cognizant, Mr. Santhosh Babu and V. Venkatakrishnan of DO-IT. The speakers
advised students to give their all in their respective courses of study without
worrying about job opportunities. “We test students only on their course of
study – we don`t ask a Civil Engineering student about complex computer
programs,” Mr. Ramkumar said.
Students should pursue their passion. Important is to excel in whatever
area of study, career or life. Essentialy the objective in life is to live life
full, happy and in peace , without hurting anyone else or exploiting anyone
else.
Students should not choose a curriculum or pursue a career mistaking it
for the best or better in term of scope for money or opportunities. There is
scope in all faculties. Your attitude towards life determines your success.
