Actor Vishal who is well known for his real action sequences for movies kick started a piracy racket a month ago. Now, the Jigarthanda director, Karthick Subbaraj is said to have joined the bandwagon too. They two have joined hands to mark and end to piracy. This young and emerging director started this for stopping piracy in the recently released movie, Jigarthanda which was named after the signature drink of Madurai.
While Vishal succeeded in wiping out piracy in Karaikudi, Karthick did the same in Madhurai along with few local youths and his assistants. The director got the wind of piracy when he visited the temple city with Siddharth and Bobby Simha. He went for a hunt for the pirated copies of the movie and took help from a local service organization called ‘Thodarvom’. Nearly 20 copies of the movie were ceased and in few shops, there were bundles of CDs of pirated latest movies including the director’s.
When the director was asked if he is angry for this malpractice, he said he was very upset on knowing about the piracy in the movie. He added that Madhurai police personnel were readily available to carry out a raid in all CD outlets across Madhurai. He is now very happy for being able to be of help for the cinema industry with his bold act. He also added that this raid would help stop the sale of CDs at least for quite some time, so that the public would watch the film in theaters.
