The next time you board into a train, beware. Ensure that you throw away only recyclable waste materials inside the train toilet. You might not have not have noticed the sign on the wall, but the dustbins placed inside the toilet indicates that you’re standing inside a bio-toilet. These toilets, in addition to keeping the fecal material away from the environment, helps prevent the stinking smell that disturbs you enter the train.
When people enter the bio-toilet, they fail to realize their mistake. When they throw away plastic or other non-recyclable material, it chokes it. Further to a course of time, the bio-digester would get inoperable, says a senior official. He also added that the chemicals used in regular toilets cannot be used in bio-toilets, as it will kill the bacteria that help breaking human fecal material.
In case of bio-toilets, high pressure guns are used. This consumes 40% less water and eliminates the need to use chemicals.
