M.S.Ananth, Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai was delivering

character was an important component of education and learning process. It was
good that religions of different faiths invariably advocated the followers to
build good character.Hence, the people should pay greater importance to build
character, he said.
The purpose of education he said has undergone a sea change after the industrial revolution and subsequent information revolution. The present competitive nature of world and ever changing technological advancements has warranted the need for serious learning and with creativity. The students, teachers and people concerned should strive hard to focus on finding new solutions with innovative ideas and thinking.
Mr.Ananth
said many of the people had been giving importance to left brain, which was
mainly discharging the functions of collecting and storing data. It was
important to activate the functions of right brain, which would make the human
to design strategy, innovative thinking and ideas and others. It would
ultimately make the people gain self-confidence to achieve success.
