· We keep a variety of food items in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.However, germs & bacteria attack such items which start smelling bad. To prevent this, make a small ball of cotton and dip it in a bowl of lemon juice and keep it inside the fridge. The bad smell will go away.
· It is a natural process for white-coloured food items such as vegetables to turn red while frying. A typical example is cauliflower. If you spray some lemon juice to uuniformly spread across cauliflower florets before frying them, the white colour will be retained while frying.
· The vegetable cutting board will smell bad after cutting a number of items such as onion, garlic, or meat. Cut a lemon into a wedge. Rub this wedge thoroughly on the surface of the cutting board. Or you can wash the board with some lemon juice. The smell will vanish.
· You can let a few drops of lemon juice in the spots where ants and other insects proliferate in the kitchen. This will drive them away.
· The skins of vegetables and fruits bought from shops are likely to be toxic because of the insecticides and fertilisers sprayed on them. Take a spray filled with some lemon juice and spray on these fruits and vegetables and keep aside for a few minutes and wash them later. The toxic elements would be removed.
· There is a trend for all age-groups to eat food items stuffed in containers and covers. These items are treated with harmful chchemicals for long shelf-lives and also give artificial colours. By eating them, poisonous elements are imbibed in the blood harming the body and the organs. To prevent this, it is advisable to take lemon juice frequently. This will remove the toxic content in the blood and purify it.
