Aavin introduces new packaging for its stick ice creams

Aavin recently launched new packaging for its stick ice creams.

In place of old cardboard boxes that, at times, become soggy, they now come in PET-BOPP laminated food grade pouches that are easier to handle and won’t leak or break open.

Sources in the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation, popularly called Aavin, said the change was brought about following feedback from consumers.

The Federation’s Ambattur dairy has been renovated at a cost of Rs. 65 lakh, which includes machinery for improved packaging.

V. Moorthy, dairy development minister, who recently launched the new packaging equipment, also inspected the upcoming building coming up at a cost of Rs. 18 crore.

The minister also launched a new variant of kulfi — the long kulfi — that costs Rs. 30 apiece.

A. Miller, Federation chairman, Sunil Paliwal, Aavin managing director, and R. Gajalakshmi, joint managing director, were present on the occasion.
