Kind of adventure sport, super show of super two wheeler
racing skills is slated to entertain Coimbatoreans on Saturday. High-flying MRF
National Supercross Championship will be an action packed entertainment of a
different kind this Saturday at the Codissia Complex, the venue of the
historical World Classical Tamil Conference. The big boys of supercross from
across the country will be here to show off their skills in air and on the
ground during the second leg of the MRF National Supercross Championship
exclusively for the two-wheelers. Supercross is an off-road motorcycle race in
a closed course consisting of a winding dirt trail with jumps, sharp turns and
a combination of various obstacles over a muddy terrain. It is rated amongst
the top three spectator sports in the world. The opening event in
In the last edition we had 28 jumps but we have trimmed it
down to 20 this year. So, the speed is really going to be high. We have
balanced the number of jumps and speed to make the event absolutely exciting.”
The event will also witness a rider exchange programme

Mr. Shyam said the national participation in this
championship has also grown ten-fold over the years. Excitement will be at its
peak with TVS Racing which has amongst the best of riders competing wheel to
wheel.
“Motorcycles in the various classes namely Group ‘B` and ‘C`
will range from the regular ones that our Indian market offers.
In some categories modification is permitted and these bikes
will be fitted with Indian or foreign race factory made ‘after market`
components to make them more competitive,” he added.
The Group ‘A` consists of foreign machines namely Honda CR,
Yamaha YZ, Suzuki RM and KTM. “All these machines will differ from being a two
or four stroke and with cubic capacity of 125cc to 250cc. This will be the
